A school district spokesman did not comment on possible disciplinary measures, but said the incident probably isn't serious enough to cost Maxwell his job.

I guess 'zero tolerance' doesn't apply to teachers.

I can see all the students writing about classmates and then getting kicked out of school due to the zero tolerance policies.

I live in Alaska very close (15 miles) to the school where 6 kids were arrested for writing down who they would kill and how. Maybe if school violence wasn't so prominent, but it is. Making kids do this as an assignment is ridiculous. The teacher should be jailed and lose his job. What if he had kids write down who they would rape, rob, torture, etc. Make an example of this idiot.

even if he doesn't deserve to lose his job.

Hes an idiot for coming up with such a stupid exercise. Why not ask the students which skyscraper they would want to bring down, and how they would go about doing it.

Yes, maybe for University students. Not appropriate for school aged children, especially when killing in schools seems to be popular.

well id be happy to write about how id kill that abu hamza guy. ****** twat

lives in this country, scrounges off our government ie gets hand outs which comes from the tax we pay, and the guy has the cheek to support what the terrorists are doing, he even said he'd like to see a masacre, like the one in the russian school siege, carried out in a school in england.

and the government just lets him and his ****** bag family live here! he hates our guts but will promptly sponge off the government instead of getting a job.

i think hes been deported now, but if i was the government id have sent the SAS round his house ages ago, and dump him and his family back in the ****** stye from which they came

heard about this on the morning news.
IMHO, I think the teacher didn't think very much about what he was saying, considering that we live in a very politically-correct society and anything remotely "wrong" to anyone will get attacked by the media buzzards and vicious parents. That said, the exercise wasn't actually a bad idea - except that he was teaching in a high school, and high school kids aren't the most stable people in the world, meaning they might go off and actually commit the murder.

i dont see how this is news though,

infact i find it quite appealing. i would of enjoyed english lessons alot more if i got to write about stuff like this, rather than some horrifically crap poems. certainly would make english lessons more interesting and enticing.
