I just watched this movie on DVD, and why are people raving over it??

its an OK movie at best, it even gets me extremely angry at the middle...

and also its too farfecthed.. creating an army that is that loyal?? puhlease...

yea yea I get all the hidden messages.... advertising in our lives, yada yada yada...

if you like this movie, please also state your age... I want to know if there is a connection between people who like the movie and the age of the people who like it..

my theory is that young people tend to like the extremetity and the values presented in this movie (anti establishment, life is full of pain, etc etc)

my theory is that younger people are more rebellious, anti establishment, full of values that they want to impose to others, etc... These messages are very strong in fight club, hence why I think younger people will like it more..

some people have far too much time on their hands, they need to just enjoy the damned movie. for me, i find most movies somewhat entertaining as long as it is well made (acting, directing, editing, etc.).

Well said. You could pick apart almost any movie, they're just supposed to entertain. I hate threads like this when people are like "Omg, in Back to the Future how was Marty still in that point in time blah blah blah" It's just a fuggin movie! It doesn't have to be realistic!

I'm 33. I liked it...alot! Wife is 31, she didn't.

I enjoyed the action, but especially the mind game. I didn't realize the 2 guys were both him until the end. I love stories that take me for a mind-trip. I also like the anti-establishment theme, too bad it's so unlikely to be able to be carried out for real...

don't get me wrong, i agree with you on that people can read too much into a movie. those same people are probably the ones posting about how they thought a girl was interested in him, so he read a book on dating that said the girl was using him, so he disowned the girl that only wanted to be a friend type threads.
