Ok, why do None of the filesharing programs work for me?

Ok, Napster worked, but it's junk now, so it's a moot point.
-Audiogalaxy won't connect to even register
-Bearshare connects, but continuously searches for songs, never getting any hits
-Morpheus does the same thing as Bearshare.

this is searching for common things, too. nothing outlandish or obscure. am i not hitting some switch somewhere? I'm on dsl with a router for sharing internet access...
 
ok thanks viper, you fixed it! actually i didn't check any of the ports, but it seems to work now? i don't know what you did....hehe. oh well.
