Damn these cats are pissing me off! Here is the story.

For some apparent reason, these stupid cats do NOT know how to poop in the litter box. They pee in it, but they don't poop in it. Every single time they poop, they go in the litter box, BUT they hang their asses outside the litter box, thus sh!tting on the ground. Then, they get out the litter box, and start trying to lift the carpet off the ground, thinking they are covering up their own fecal matter. And sometimes, if they do happen to poop in the litter box, they get out of the box, and start trying to lift the carpet, thinking they are covering up their poop, thus leaving their feces uncovered. And what pisses me off, THEY BOTH DO IT!!! :|:|

DAMN IT I AM TIRED OF THIS!!!111!! THESE ARE NOT CATS!!!11! WHAT KIND OF CATS DO SUCH A THING???????? :|:|:|

The litter box is very big.

I will not poop in the litter box just to show these cats how to poop.

I do not touch myself at night.

Make sure the box is clean, they won't shit in it if it's not clean enough. Put some news paper or plastic wrap around the box, easy clean up.

Actually, my sister's friend's boyfriend did that as a joke:

Girlfriend got a kitten, so it was like palm size. As a joke, the bf took a crap in the litter box then covered it up like cats do. When the gf cleaned out the litter box, she freaked. She put her thumbs together with her index fingers sticking out - measured the poo, measured the cat, poo, cat, poo, cat. . . all the while, the bf was busting up in the next room. She even took the cat to the vet to ask if this was possible. He later told her it was a joke and they broke up. haha.

I make sure the box is always clean. These cats are just stupid. Also, I tried putting newspaper one time. They tore the paper into shreds.

I'm assuming you change the litter box often? I've heard that some cats have problems sharing a litter box. Did this just start happening? It could be worse. Getting the smell of cat urine out of carpet or furniture is damn near impossible.

You have two cats and one litterbox... ? I hope you clean it every day.

You say it's very big... how big? I use a sterilite container and the walls are way too high for them to have their butt sticking off the side.

So:

1) Bigger container, preferably with high walls
2) Clean it every day

And best of all:

1) Get another litterbox. The "rule of thumb" is 1 per cat + 1.

This just started happening about a month and a half ago. It's never happened before.

Do you fill the litterbox up adequately high? That's another suggestion I forgot above. If you get a high walled one, they will often poop on the walls if there isn't enough litter to work with.

The box is cleaned every night. Good advice. I will be getting 2 litter boxes, both with either enclosed or with high walls.

Thanks. :)

Oh yeah, and my cats sometimes try to bury their stuff outside the litterbox too. Sometimes they just go too close to the side and don't think about turning around in the box. It shouldn't happen every time, though.
