well, i recieved an email from him earlier....(i editted it somewhat...had lotsa cuss words...heh)

Im am ubervoodoofx9700 from anandtech. i have posted many things that have pissed people off and that one night i was nefing i deserve to get a vacation. BUT SOME ASSHOLE TOOK THIS THING WAY TO F**KING FAR. They used my email to sign me up as steve gaymonger on many websites so i would get a bunch of crap email, im pretty sure it was you because you were the origenator of that thread. IF YOU DID THIS THEN YOU ARE A STUPID F**KING COWARD. I was thinking of taking this email address and doing the same thing then i realized that i would b stooping to your level. you wanna just sneak around the net with your thumb up your ass thinking you really hurt me with your stupid little email flood. this is harrasment plain and simple and i hope you rot in hell. if it is you then go ahead, comment on my spelling. say im a bigot but atleast im not a little faget coward like you.

if you did not do this then i am sory for you recieving this. if you arent please reply stating that you are or you could be a panzy ass little bitch say you didnt even tho you did or reply to this and do whater the fvck you want cause im happy knowing that im not a little fvcking troll like you ,,!,,/

i didn't do this to him cuz i do have a life and have a life as an EE major..AND I respect all you guys as comp dudes and as a person entitled to his/her opinoin..blahbalbh, but to the person who did this...that really sucked ok?.....now he's actually being nice to me by sending me a semi-attacking email...i would be pissed to...just wondering..anyone has any information on who did this to uber?

uber was able get the ip and the emails and sent them to me....i forwarded it to the mods....hopefully they'll ban the ip from where it came from...

I can't be bothered to do something like that to someone just for neffing. As mentioned in the threads, I was calling on the mods to deal with it.

It doesn't necessarily mean that people who posted in that thread signed him up. This has happened before and people were able to track down who signed him up, and the mods were alerted (or maybe it was the mods that tracked it) and banned the member(s) responsible.

do u knw how this can be tracked??..lemme email uber again to request the ip's from those other forums the bastard signed him up on,....

he should contact the administrator of that website, where the email address was signed up. Then track'em down from there.
 
Umm... this happens to me pretty regularly. Unless the IP address that signed you up is listed, there is nothing that can be done. You cannot unsubscribe no matter how hard you try. I normally get 15-20 pieces of bestiality, gay porn, cartoon sex, and all kinds of other crap in my e-mail a day. EVERY single one of them says I signed up. I visit there site and there is a place to put in ANY e-mail address that you want. Nothing can get you off the lists.

It is bunch of little pussy fvcks who do it. They are not willing to say anything to you in a thread or by PM. They do some passive stuff like that and it makes their ego feel better.

we had a girl at work who made someone real mad (no it wasnt me), anyways she got signed up for all kinds of things, she had people calling her and emailing her about home loans, car loans, she got signed up for the book of the month club...it was severe drama....in the end the sites werent willing to give out the info about IP's and things like that without a court order

Why doesn't he just view the headers of the initial emails. Those usually tell you an IP that signed up the account.
