Calif. TV weatherman pleads guilty to lewd act

SAN DIEGO -- A California television weatherman has pleaded guilty to a lewd act in public.

Joe Lizura, who has resigned as morning weatherman at San Diego's KUSI-TV, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for masturbating in the window of a San Diego office building in October.

The San Diego Union-Tribune says the 49-year-old Lizura entered the plea on Jan. 31 and he was placed on three years' probation. He was also ordered to pay a $200 fine and attend a counseling session.

San Diego police say a woman in her 20s saw Lizura was masturbating while watching her as she waiting at a bus stop. Lt. Andra Brown says another witness also reported seeing the incident.

Lizura told police he was adjusting window blinds.

Seems like people are overreacting. Don't get me wrong, its totally gross and morally, ethically, and socially wrong to do something like that. It just seems like such an overreaction to go to the cops, sure I'd be offended if I was the lady in question, but I'd get over it and laugh about it with friends later.
