OK, which idiot called the Alien movie collection a 'Quadrilogy'

A DVD supplier sent me a flyer today, with pride of place being the Alien Quadrilogy (sic).

WTF is a quadrilogy? Presumably they mean a tetralogy? Which fool decided to make up a word because they didn't like the one that already existed - especially when it sounds better and is more easily spoken?

This is such a small thing, but it just irritates me that people are so proud to display their ignorance.

The average person doesn't know what a tetralogy is and would never guess that it meant collection of 4 works.

On the other hand, most would be able to guess that a Quadrilogy is just that so from a marketing standpoint it makes more sense.

Plus Quadrilogy sounds alot cooler than tetralogy. Just like Computer chips have Quadpumped busses and such. Wouldn't you rather have a Quad pumped Laser Rifle over a Tetrapumped version. 😕

I hated Alien 3, but did'nt mind Resurrection, it was OK. But I know what you mean, the last two aren't a patch on the first two. :beer:
