Ok,

I have as title states the Antec P160 case. Have had it for a good while, and enjoy it very much.

I recently purchased the Dell 2005FPW monitor. While waiting for it to arrive, I gave my Sony 17" LCD to my daughter, and went to use her monitor. (Hers was a Sony 17" CRT) Well, when I tried to plug in the monitor, I could not fit it on my vid cards connector....

I have an ATI X850 XT vid card, and where the DVI outputs there is a bar from the case right above it. It seems my Sony LCD's connector was thinner. So, I used another monitor for a couple of days... Well, the Dell arrived, and ... yep, same problem, if not worse. The Dell's DVI plug has a fatter end on it, than my Sony LCD as well. I can't plug it in!! I can't believe it. Who has ever heard of such a thing??

So, I have no idea what I can possibly do. I suppose my only recourse is I will have to cut out that part of the case. (Stupid, but I don't see any other recourse)

If anyone has experienced this, or has this case... I would appreciate ANY help, advice, etc.

Thanks.
:)

why would that be a problem with antec? it's probably the faceplate thingamabob that came with the motherboard. call your motherboard manufacturer.

i have the same case and similar problem (i think)

my vid card has dual dvi out but i have a crt (use a converter). i obviously have to use the top slot for my card and well lets just say i had to bend my vid card a slight bit for it to fit :Q . i did actually ponder cutting that little piece of metal from the case though and would if i had to.

i will post a pic in a minute

Actually, I was semi-aware I posted in wrong forum lol (It's been awhile) However, after I posted I thought... should I delete, then thought... naaa this forum gets most views so I figured someone would help out quite quickly.

No, it is not the faceplate. It is a small bar, or part of the actual case that is in the way. I have been building PC's for years now, and have never seen this problem before.

BINGO!!

My area of problem is see where his green wire is... right below that is my DVI out.. that thin piece of metal I can't get the plug's housing past it to plug in the monitor. (It's not aluminum either, even though pretty much the entire case is.) What a pain... we just moved in, heck I don't even know where my dremel is.
