is it since the stuff is confuctive? just want to make sure before i fry the little guy. if so is it also ok if some spills out onto the blue/green part of the chip?

Won't hurt if you're careful and don't apply more than a thin coat. BTW Have you read a review for the stuff your using? Is it better than Artic Silver or Circuit Works Silver Heatsink compound?

Arctic Silver is supposed to rule still, but Cu stuff is pretty damn good. Only problem is it is electrically confuctive... er.. conductive like the Circuit Works stuff. Should be OK on an FC-PGA Celeron, but it still makes me nervous.

When I try to load that webpage it seem to be corrupted. I don't get a complete load. Anyway, did the copper compound beat out the silver products?

That site's review page won't load for me in Netscape or IE. I'm not too concerned that any copper paste will outperform Arctic Silver. Copper paste is terminally electrically conductive, for starters. Except in a very thin layer, under extreme pressure, the Arctic Silver isn't electrically conductive. Someone at overclockers.com tested the Arctic Silver for electrical conductivity with a Multimeter. It registered infinity. I dunno what "extreme pressure" really means. However, copper bearing paste needs no pressure at all. Put an Ohm meter's leads at two ends of a dab of copper paste, just like the reviewer did with AS. Ping! You've got continuity.

There's nothing wrong with copper paste. Just be VERY careful if you use it.
