OK To Run On 1 DIMM?

What I thought was a problem with my graphics card was evidently one of my memory modules going bad. With the bad module removed, things seem to work fine. Is there any harm in running on a single 1 gig stick of ram for awhile?

I'm told I have to RMA both 1 G sticks, but I don't want to be without a computer for several days. So I thought I would order two 512MB sticks and run on them while I RMA the the 2X1G set, then bump up to 3 Gig when I get the replacements.

I guess the second question is: is this a reasonable plan?

Thanks for the help.

(I'm still trying to figure out how to make the link say "My Rig". Sorry to be such a newb.)

It is fine to run on a single 1GB sick of RAM.

The plan of getting the 2x512MB while you're waiting for your RMA is fine, too. I am running the 3GB of RAM as well.

Good luck!
