OK to disable "consent data usage" when setting up Galaxy phone?

When setting up a Galaxy phone - in my case S7 - for the first time there is a checkbox "consent diagnostics and data usage" that you can disable. If you disable this, will this disable the data usage app on your phone and interfere with OS updates? Any other possible disadvantages? Thanks.

sounds like spy app not a os update app.. doesnt say anything about disabling automatic updates.
