OK to bring prosciutto e melone to a wine & cheese party?

melon with prosciutto is not a combination I would think of...I'm guessing it has to be somewhat good though? not sure if its my kinda thing

It's awesome and would be a great idea to bring to a wine and cheese party.

Another good one is an olive, cantelope and cheese on a toothpick.

Why not?

Also, proscuitto e melone does really well with a smear of a ripe gorgonzola in between. Then you have your cheese involved too.

Whenever we do things like this, I always serve homemade capicolo, proscuitto, or soppresata. It's just implied that cured meats are fantastic with wine, cheese, and fruit.

ABSOLUTELY, OP! You could well be the most poplular personage at that particular soiree, by which I mean your take along could get you laid.

Prosciutto is the cultured man's bacon, it makes so many great combos. Your combo elegantly follows the age old savory/sweet counterpoint combo. I predict your penoir will be discreetly sized-up by several of the ladies in attendance.

Their husbands just don't understand them, but they can tell by your appetizer that you obviously do. You're not like the rest.

The more important question is WTF are you doing at a "wine and cheese" party. Please turn in your man card immediately........

j/k

I think prosciutto with melon is pretty standard. I've had that combo several times before.

I don't see why not, it's delicious and easy to eat for that type of event.

On second thought - NO! You've got meat and you've got fruit. Meat means red wine and fruit is a white and guests really don't want to mix their wines.
