I stopped by Taco Bell on the way home from work tonight; I went through the drive through. Normally I get mild sauce with my order. The woman at the window asked me if I wanted sauce, and I said "mild please".

When I got home, I looked in the bag and there was no sauce. I thought to myself "damn it, she forgot the sauce". For those of you not familiar with Taco Bell, the sauce comes in a little packet, just like Ketchup.

As I'm eating my food. I notice that there is sauce on all of my food. It's on my nachos, gorditas, and my burrito.

So they don't have sauce packets anymore? They're pouring it on themselves?

If that's true they've lost my business. I never even go to the drive through because they're skimpy with the packets. I go in to grab a big handful and slather it on. Taco Bell's food sole reason for existing is as a hot sauce delivery mechanism.

Don't you say more gas by parking and going into the store, versus going thru the drive thru? It's pretty nasty if they put the sauce on your food. Proper Mexican food is one thing, but this is Taco Bell we're talking about. Who knows what they put in the sauce that's not in the small packets.

I hate Taco Bell for that reason. For example, I could buy 8 burritos and they would give me 3 packets of sauce. EACH ITEM NEEDS 2 PACKETS OF SAUCE!!!!!1!!

Exactly. Two packets per item, that's why I go inside. And I get extra to have in the car and the house for emergencies when I get items without two packets.

Recently got 10 packets for my order of 3 tacos. I didn't get that much other times but enough to easily have more than I need after just a few times. All drive thru. I think what happens is they see pimpagezic rollin' hard as fuck, and the girl gives me a bunch of hot sauces to equate to how hot she thinks I am.

my packet requirements:

Grilled stuffed: 8-11 fire packets (depends on how big they make it).
Mexican Pizza: 7 hot packets with 4 fire packets speckled in
Soft taco: 3 fire packets and 1 hot packet
steak/chicken tacos: 5 fire packets.

I might go there for lunch tomorrow just to spite you. I might even go so far as sending a glowing review email to corporate headquarters.

Agree. Mild is for pussies.

You should always check your bag for sauce and that you got everything before driving off.

Seriously, I don't even eat excessively hot stuff anymore, and I consider Taco Bell fire sauce to be a mild sauce.

Don't recall that, BUT, up until ~ 4 years ago or so you could still get their ORIGINAL and far more authentic green hot sauce. It was never in packets, hadn't even been advertised for maybe decades, but was there if you asked for it.

It dates back to the very beginnings of Taco Bell. The Pakistanis who work at my local Bell, their eyes would light up in genuine appreciation when I asked for it -- always got them to ladle a bunch into a couple of cups with lids to go (not soda cups).

Then, sadly one day, it was gone. I haven't been to a Bell recently, but after that you could get a green chilli sauce in a packet that was larger and transparent -- completely diff. from the other packets. But it just wasn't the same, not even close.

Fire sauce, btw, is crap, imho.

Sigh. All the really good stuff goes bye-bye. :(
