Current Setup:
AN7
XP Mobile 2600+ @ 2.65Ghz @ 1.9V
1GB Corsair PC2700 maxed @ 215MHz 2.5-3-3-11
ATI X800 PRO @ 560/560Mhz
ViewSonic P95F+
SATA Seagate 80GB
ATA Seagate 120GB
Audigy2 ZS Platinum
Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra

Both the Mobile and X800 pro are watercooled using outside air, current cpu temp under load is 64F .

This is what I plan to get to upgrade my system...

MSI NEO2 Platinum
A64 3200+
Corsair 1GB Twinx 3200XLPT
WD 36GB 10Krpm Raptor for main drive

When I order my A64 block from DangerDen should I get there chipset block as well? Would it really be worth it over the nomal heatsink with AS5?

Will my Thermaltake Purepower 420W be enough?

Im getting the 36GB Raptor over the 74GB because I only use 20-25GB at the most on my 80GB bootdrive.

I think the 36GB Raptors were the ones that really didn't show much performance increase over 7200RPM drives--the 74GB was the one that did, though neither of them present a real-world difference that's all that significant, at least in my eyes. If you want to go for it, go for it.

Depending on how much you're paying for the Corsair it's probably not worth it; you can get good cheap TCCD for less than that (Patriot/PDP PC3200 CL2 or G.skill PC4400--this has gotten to 300MHz).

You'll have to ask others around here about the PSU and chipset block.

I didn't know that the 36GB raptors were about the same as 7200rpm drives? I'll have to look into that some.

Well I already ordered the Corsair which was $248. I might have saved $20-30 if I went with Patriot/PDP but I have Corsair now and have been very please with it......
As for the PSU, I went and got a Antec Neopower 480W, so that isn't a issue now.

Anyone please add any comments?

The may say that since there transfer speeds were a farce like much of the ATA standard...

However I can tell you there is a noticebale improvement in speedon desktop...loading and opening things...things that benching doesn't always give you a feel for....

10000rpm has a real world performance factor...remember when we went to 7200rpm from 5400rpm???

WOW! Duvie, you are everywhere on this board!

I kinda figured that loading XP and stuff would be faster with a 10K rpm drive....
If scsi wasn't so overpriced, Id take that route...

Well I'll be ordering either some time this evening or I'll wait intill Monday. I'm still trying to find the cheapest price for the A64 and NEO2. So far it looks like Mwave.

I broke down the other day at CompUstupid (CompUSA) and got an Antec Neopower 480W.

I also changed my setup from above. Instead of the 3200+ I broke down into a greedy rage and ordered the FX-55.
