Ok.. this is buggin the crap outta me.

I've got a doorbell sound that goes off on my laptop every once in awhile and I can't tell what is causing it. No popups, or weird apps running that I can tell of. No scheduled tasks in Outlook....

Anyone have any ideas? The thing goes off at least once every time I use it (per power up), sometimes more than once.

Does it happen at any specific time (i.e. ten minutes after power-up), or is it just totally random? A few more details would help. That said, sounds like some kind of warning from the BIOS. Might want to check it out.

Does the system have a "case open" lead?

Sounds like one of the messinger sounds when a friend logs in or out or if you recieve a message.
Do you have AIM / MSN MESS / YAHOO MESS. installed ???
