The rig the I just bought(yesterday) has raid 0 and it's nice but I don't think it's worth the risk.

ya i dont see the big deal in going raid 0 , but the raid 1 is still intriguing with the low cost of disk nowadays. Any other recommendations anyone? looking for some SPECIFICS people.

well a funny (well not really funny haha) thing just happened. My 21 in Viewsonic p225fb that ive been using for about 2 years just burned up. Was loading BF2 and then i hear this funny sound and look under the monitor and see SPARKS. not good. So i guess ordering that dell 2405 was a good idea . Only problem is now i was going to use that viewsonic for work, hook it to my dell 9100 laptop , so now i need to get another monitor. Dont know if we want to get 2 of those 2405 dells, dont think they have that deal again. Maybe the 20 inch WS one from dell? hows that? also will prob need one more when i take my old system that im going to replace and set up for my oldest boy to use to play his games on. Any recommendations for that, prob only need 17 for that. Well thx for all the info so far. keep it coming

well just what i have on my first page, want to make sure get right PS for that P180 case and that dfi mb. What memory to go with out of those ones i listed. and which HD to go with. And now of course is the Monitor issue. will need to get another monitor for work and will need one more for my current box that im going to setup for one of my sons to use for school and his games.

well the Dell 2405 just got here and all i can say is WOWOWOWOW. This thing is HUGE and so bright, Looks great in the games. only issue right now is my old 9700 AIWpro cant run them at the high res very well 🙁 so come on i need to finalize this system. Any other thoughts on my part list?

nice one man 😀! i was gonna pick that monitor up a month er so ago but i cant pull myself away from my 19"(1600x1200@75hz)crt i just like everything about it,..guess im just attatched to it like my cpu and cant let go,.lol


heres what id get myself if i were you imo:

athlon64 4000+ san diego core 334
dfi sli infinity or abit a8n-sli 122-130(only get the lanparty if you plan on doing serious overclocking imo)
2x1gb ocz plat el 245
(any brand)geforce 7800gtx 459-whatever
creative x-fi(any kind,cheapest one is xtreme music cuz it doesnt have the front panel adjustments, inputs and outputs etc etc) 129 er so
large power supply with at least a 30a +12v about 66 bux er more
any dvd rom/burner about 40-50 bux
74gb wd raptor 10,000rpm sata 165

around 1578,..maybe less maybe more depending on what ways you go,..either way anything close would compliment that monitor nicely 🙂,...although with this price if you can afford more try to scoop up another 7800gtx or 2 7800gt's if you can

thx for the thoughts. For now im still thinking of going dual core as that seems to be the future. Guess ill have to look at that sound card after some more reading seems the onboard does suck up some cpu. Anyone else any recommendations from my list? need to start putting a system together that can run this monitor. Man im loving this thing

what is the best memory for that DFI board and that X2 processor? cant seem to make sense of difference in all that OCZ memory? I want a SOLID high perf system and the OCZ stuff seems the way to go. Might even OC a little
