OK.. tell me how to study for discrete math

I dropped it two semesters ago because I was making such a mess out of it, partly because my instructor was disorganized as hell. :|

Now that I'm retaking it, I wanna do well in it but it just seems that words and numbers don't gel together for me

Hints? Tips?

Right now I'm doing quantifiers which is still OK (hit snags here and there, but overall doable) but I know it's gonna get a lot tougher later so I just wanna be prepared.. plus I'm taking some other heavy courses too

Just started it this semester. I've only been to two lectures and haven't had a test yet, but it looks really easy so far. I could be wrong I suppose.

EDIT: The class is at least partially Discrete Math. Logic, constructing/understaning proofs, etc.

Let F(x, y) be the statement "x can fool y.", universe of discourse consists of all people in the world.

Statement: "There is someone who can fool exactly one person besides himself or herself."

I take it that this sentence also means "This dude can fool himself and another (exactly one) dude".

So I came up with this solution (not sure if you browser can show this properly):

?x ((?y F(x, y) ? (x=y)) ? (?w F(x, w) ? (w ? x)))

I'm not too good with this so I might be WAY off.. please comment

Before you go to class skim the chapter your going to be going over. I find that would have helped me if I wasn't such a lazy bastard. Also, make sure and do all the homework which is the most important thing you can do. Do the homework, let me repeat it again. DO THE HOMEWORK. I am sure your a lazy SOB like me but it helps a great deal to do it.

I don't remember all the symbols. Sorry. BTW, your statement says nothing about whether the dude can fool himself. It just says the dude can fool "someone other than himself".

this class takes practice.....tons and tons.....make sure you get all the basic logic down first...and do lots of practice with them......know direct proof, indirect proof, contrapostive, induction....know those very very well by doing lots and lots of practice......and do not skip any class, or you will be lost.....and do lots and lots of practice.....
