My mom just got me 3 free Athlon XP's (she works at AMD, but is getting laid off, these were a departing gift I guess). I have been waaaaay out of this CPU loop for a long time, but since I got these free, I might as well try them out. All are retail chips, one is a 1800+, one is a 2100+, and one is a 2400+.

Here are the numbers I see on these things:

on the 1800+:

AX18000DMT3C
AGOIA 0237SPSW
93820760273

on the 2100+

AX2100DMT3C
AGOIA 0219UPGW
920155720571

on the 2400+ (listed on a black sticker, not the core)

AXDA2400DKV3C
AIUHB 0305TPXW
9567276270146

Thanks for any information on these chips. I've been out of this CPU thing for awhile, so I'm not sure what is good.

from those steppings, all the processors ur mom got are Palamino Cores. they are good enough to use around the house, but are pretty outdated now.

but now... the LAST one... that's the keeper, it's a T-Bred B core, and should provide very good overclocking potential, i haven't seen a such a recent stepping as the one you are carrying now.

hope the info helps

Yea, laid off after working at AMD for 25 years. So much for loyalty. I might just sell these CPU's and go Intel from now on, screw AMD!

It's all right here Here :)

Edit: IIRC they were actually an outsource for intel before incorporating but don't quote me on that.

Intel would lay off people in a recession too; they just have a lot more resources and cash to fall back on. ;)
