Ok, so what's the best game this year?

I'm getting a totally kick a$$ computer for christmas and I want to push it to its absolute limits. It's a pentium 4 2.53 ghz, 512 ddr 400, ti 4200, 19 inch A90f monitor to name a little. I know some ppl will say, that isnt kick a$$, but compared to my old 200mhz compaq, IT's kick a$$! So whats the best game? I'll play almost type of game (FPS and Racing games are my favs).

Are you looking for Single Player or Multiplayer? I would definitely recommend Medal Of Honor Allied Assult.. best single player game I have ever seen/played. Not the greatest for multiplayer though. Also, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 should definitely show off your new computer

Unfortunately BS1942 won't make it as GOTY

If you would have had BF1942 with a RTCW engine you would have had the best damm KickASS Game of the Year. The massive cheats, serious game issue and early beta netcode is what puts it into the bottom pile of garbage along with the others.

MOH was the best single player FPS I played this year by far and SOF2 second and AvsP2/NOLF2 tied for third.

For TPS (third person shooter) that would goto Mafia

For strategy Neverwinter

Yes, I agree, MOH best singleplayer game this year, and the new Spearhead addon is a great encore.

Also enjoyed mafia and RTCW. Those games looked great on my GeF4 Ti4200.

I, personally was not all that thrilled with BF1942, SOF2, Hitman2, or Americas Army.

I'm not a huge gamer and I don't know all of the abbreviations

Personally, I liked Unreal Tournament 2003
Warcraft 3 disappointed me a bit, mainly because I liked being able to build up a huge army, and in the new one you can't really do that.

MOHAA = Meadl of Honor Allied Assualt. Eh, It's okay, the expansion is ok too. Seems to jittery to me. And the sniper gun just kills the fun online.
NOF2= No One Lives Forever 2 <~~Great Single Player Game. Has humor, I think the first one was funnier though IMO <~~ In My Opinion
RTCW = Return To Castle Wolfestein <~~ I like the first one better Single Player was SOOO long. I gave up in mission 5 I think. After the fire breathing soldiers in the temple.

And the food caps, and emphasis on Hero Build up in WC3 makes is a challenging game. Anyone can build 100 units and rush the enemy <~~ too easy

1.MOHAA - Boring!
2.RTCW - singleplayer Boring!
3.Warcraft 3 - Why did I waste my money on this crappy game?
4.SOF 2 -singleplayer Boring and ran like s**t on my 9700. (multiplayer was fun)

The differing opinions are amusing.

Obviously whether a game is considered bad, better or best is not absolute.
Just comes down to taste.

Wow, we sure have different tastes.

Don't see how anyone who likes FPSs can think MOHAA is boring. A game where you go through the D-Day Normandy invasion in scenes patterned after the famous beach landing depicted by Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan.....gotta love it!

Also, the great and unique tank driving scenes. I am presently enjoying the Spearhead add-on. The tank driving scenes in Spearhead are even better, with an ability (and need) to toggle between the turret cannon and turret machine gun, pure fun.

I can't believe anyone could possibly think moh is boring.. every mission is different, sniper missions, driving tanks, blowing up sh!t, and the beach invasion is just amazing.. plus the graphics are top notch and it feels like your actually there.. best game I have ever played.

I agree with the wolfenstein single player sucking though.. I had high expectations for that game and I was totally let down. It felt like it had nothing to do with war at all

I thought Wolfenstein was OK, coulda done without the ghosts though, just soldiers like in MOH woulda been better.

Save the $$ and just get the ti4200 and OC it I think all of them will run at 4600 speeds. I run my 4200 at speeds faster then a 4600
