Ok so what is this symbol on my neighbor's door?... PIC AND POLL

Me and my girlfriend are out walking the dogs in my neighborhood when we see this symbol on a neighbor's door. She swears it's a swastika, and I'm saying no way. I told her I'd go back, grab a pic and post it up here for you guys/gals to decide on. Sorry if the pick is a little dark I didn't want to use a flash incase anyone else would see me grabbing the pic. If it's not a swastika what is it?

It is a swastika, I believe Buddhists use it as a symbol, and I think Hindus might too.

Well yea, it's the good 'peace' swastika, but he/she is running a huge risk displaying that on his/her door.

It's the reverse of the swastika. It has buddhist origins, i very much doubt your neighbor is a nazi. Although they might be a little oblivious.

its not a swastika. a swastika is rotated another way. (i think its diagonal right?) the symbol is found in a lot of buddhist temples/statues. it means peace, like others have said. the nazis stole it.


EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika looks like that symbol is a hindu symbol. notice the four dots in the center. definately isnt a nazi.
