That's a screenshot of the desktop on my brand new installation of redhat 8.0. This is DEFINITELY the best looking default linux isntall I've ever seen.

I want to grab it but can't find a decent mirror.

It's a redhat developed desktop called Bluecurve that's based on a combination of KDE and gnome, with optinos to set it up more like one or the other based on your preference.

I was getting it off one of the austrian mirrors on redhat's lasit at about 130k/sec last night. I forget which one.

Who knows? RedHat made a theme for both called Blue Curve that makes Gnome and KDE look alike.

kickstart.linux.ncsu.edu is where I got my images. You only need the first three for most installs.

I believe the default desktop is a modified version of Gnome, but you can choose to install KDE as well which also has been modified.

You can also change the fonts on the desktop to any true type font you find. I read this in the review on OSnews.com
