Lets see, on a post with 53 views and no responses, I will bite. As all I can say is there is nothing wrong with Canadian hockey which is a national passion game in Canada. Why debate it on P&N? Gotta love Canada with all their lakes and rivers that turn into Hockey rinks five months a year.

Hockey is a tough game, but so is British soccer and American football. Played by rules and not to kill.

All I can recall was a big riot for some reason in B.C. after hockey last year. Maybe some of our Canadian posters or american hockey fans (there's got to be a couple) can let us know.

Yeah, people rioted in BC after the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Maybe it's different in Canada where people riot when their team loses, unlike the US where it seems people riot when their team wins. Who is the season favorite for this year?

Yeah and at least nobody died during the BC riot.

Favorites thus far would be:

Eastern Conference: Boston, New York Rangers
Western Conference: About five good teams near the top (Detroit, Vancouver, San Jose, St. Louis, Chicago)

What, no love for the Preds (currently ahead of Chicago)?

I find it amazing that the Central has 4 of the top 5 teams in the West and 4 of the top 7 in the NHL.

Vancouver is a given in the play offs and the rest can bide their time, this year it's VC all the way!

And you can put your J-Money on that.

I'm a big fan of college hockey, which bans fighting and has great TV coverage here.

The NHL and our local minor league teams descend into pro wrestling territory far too often for my tastes.

Yeah Preds are doing great just didn't put them as "favorites" mainly due to the current situation with Suter/Weber and the fact one of them might have to go. More likely Suter.

Ps trade Suter to Vancouver.

Canucks are doing well again, but it could very well end up another Bruins vs Canucks Final. That would be a crazy rematch. However, it is most likely that neither will make it, not that I would like that though.

My prediction is this is Canucks year, but we'll see if that prediction is correct.

They are going to be in the playoffs and this year, that is where they'll play their best games.

At least i really hope so.
