OK. So should i get a 9300 or build a desktop?

Well...tha'ts a question that can only really be answered by you. I have a 9300 and a desktop. If you don't "need" a laptop then don't get one.
 
the question is will you ever need a laptop for portability?

if you do . . . the answer is easy. go with the laptop
