What all do I need to know about overclocking it? I have been doing a little research and it seems that I must flash the bios. So what is success rate for this flash? Is it relatively safe (as far as bios flashing goes) or is it kind of iffy? Also some recommendations on some benchmarking/overclocking programs would be nice. I already have Sandra 3Dmark2001SE/2003, and artifact-tester. I would also like to test to see what speed ram the card has if someone could recommend me a program that shows that.

overclocking is controled by the bios. Most high end motherboards allow you to set both the clock speed and the bus speed. (Chip Speed = Bus Speed x Clock Speed) It used to be that AMD would produce the same chip, but slow down the slower versions. You could take a pencil and fix this.

However, the number one thing you must remember with overclocking is that it will create more heat. Heat is always bad in computers, as it not only effects the CPU but other components, like the video card. Only overclock as much as you can cool...ideally keeping the chip below 50 C...but the cooler the better.

Typically video card OCing is either done through the drivers or using a 3rd party app, like PowerStrip. With the GeForce cards you can reprogram the core/clock settings in the card's BIOS to boot up at the OCed speeds. Not sure about the Radeon.

For ATI, hit www.rage3d.com. Under the "Files" section they have a variety of tweakers.

Rage3d.com has some wonderful guides to walk you through a bios flash PLUS there are links to a few sites that host bios editors and PRO bios for download (that's what I did on my sapphire 9700 non - pro.
