I've gone from computers for many months and I come back and everyone's talking about Whistler. Will someone clue me in? Also, how do I get my system listed on the mysystemrig thing? Thanks

Whistler is the next Microsoft release after Windows 2000. It is supposed to unify the desktop/business OS's with one architecture. The major change to NT was Win2k --- Whistler is more of an update.

P.S. You have that kickass system and you are using dialup?!? I see no NIC card in that system!

Thanks for the info, can't wait :)

Yeah I'm using Dialup, I live out in the "boonies" and they don't have anything else but 14.4k dialup...its incredibly slow. I wish I could get something else, but 400kbps Satellite is all I can get, and frankly I can't afford it. Cable might be here within the next "5 years" and DSL is expected to never be here (Pima AZ, 85543). If anyone knows of somethign I could do it would be greatly appreciated. They have microwave here but there isn't a tower close enough to have a LOS.. :(

Whistler = Win2K kernal plus friendly user interface of Win98.

If you are running Win2K now and use Windowsblind, than you will have an idea of what Whislter will be like. It's just a prettier version of Win2K (+ little bit of new feature)
