I made a thread asking if people thought getting a free iphone through various websites by referring people would be legit. I got mixed reports. Some say I was naive while others commented that they have completed them before and received their gift. Well I've taken the plunge for myself to see if its truly legit. Whats the worst that can happen? Some spam emails? Lost time? I don't worry about losing money because I am using a prepaid credit card. Even if I did use a regular credit card I wouldn't worry. Why? Cause these days credit card companies are as paranoid as you are and they are there to protect you in case of fraud.
How can they offer free iphones? Well this is what I've come to understand. They get paid by businesses to advertise their products & services. There is a catch though, you must complete all the referrals (depending on which gift you select) in order to obtain your gift. The majority of people will not sign up but at least visit the website. Another 1/3 may sign up but will not complete one offer. The remaining 1-2% actually follow through and complete an offer. Then out of those 1-2% maybe only 10% actually complete all the required referrals in order to obtain their gift. So I see why people say its a scam and that they don't ever pay out. It's damned hard to get enough people to complete an offer. So its true work, not like it will magically appear without effort. For an example, I made a youtube video that took me 4hrs to create. Will this pay off? I don't know yet, but we will see.
I've contacted a few friends and family and got two of them to sign up. I have completed an offer so that makes three. I need ten to complete. The hardest part is getting people to sign up and complete an offer.
Over the course of completing this project I will update on my progress, failures & successes so we (or I
) can put to rest either these are real gift claims or confirm what is a widely held view as scams. If they do or do not pay out, I will update with pics/screen shots for you believers/doubters out there. I'm not holding my breath but I am going to put forth effort so I can say it wasn't my fault. Stay tuned
