I am already pissed I need to install Steam to run AvP. So now that I got over it, during the installation prep, Steam wants to install the game on my SSD drive which I will never allow to happen. I bought a separate drive for this. The reason why I am posting this is because it didn't give me an option on which drive to complete the setup on....

Can we install Steam games on a separate storage drive?

The best way of going about it is to install the steam client on a traditional hard drive partition. If you don't want to move your steam installation then I would suggest creating a junction point on the SSD pointing the AVP install folder to a traditional hard drive instead. The best software to create and manage junction points is "Junction Link Magic"

I just un-installed the original steam setup from the AVP game, and did the separate install and chose my install location. It installed on my D;\ drive and the games will install there as well.

Thanks all

I learned about this linking thing when I was playing Witcher with a huuuuuuuge texture mod and wanted stuff to load faster. After researching all this Junction stuff, I learned that you can have a Steam install on each partition. Steam will run whatever game is in that directory's SteamApps folder.

Much easier. :)
