I resolved not to watch it at all again this year lest I be sucked in.
The main reason I got sucked in last year though was that the winner (Ruben) was from here in Birmingham. By the time he got to the finals it was almost impossible NOT to watch it. I think for the season finale it had some unheard of ratings here in the Birmingham TV market - I think I heard something like a 70-80+% share (meaning that % of TVs in the B'ham market were all watching that one show.) Events like the SuperBowl (or the locally beloved Iron Bowl) might garner something like 40-50% share at best.

I wouldn't be too quick to pick a winner yet. There are still a few people we haven't seen much of. For instance, that skinny anti-social chick with the spiky hair who was complaining about her groupmate's mother. I'm not saying she's good, but just that I haven't really heard her sing yet, and there are a few others.
