Ok so I bought my system... now should I get it installed now?

I got a 10" W7, custom box from JL, Rockford 700s and all the wiring I need. I was planning on waiting until I got a CD player but seeing that I don't have a job right now and have no money, its going to take a while. So basically should I go get it installed now? Or will it be a hassle later on down the road when they have to un-install the Line Convertor and all that stuff since it's going to be hooked up to my stock CD player in my 99 Galant GTZ? What do you guys think?

switching headunits should be fairly simple if your going to use a line converter just put it behind the head unit. Or you can always run the RCA's later..

Great box and sub .... but if I didn't have money for a head unit also, I would have spared some of that money towards a head unit and would have gotten a good sub instead of a W7😛

Many people use a stock head unit for their bumping ... it is fine, but I would rather do a proper install with a head unit with 4v out (which can be had for under $300)

Get one of those stickers for the top of your winshield and have it say "steal me, I've got expensive crap in my car."

That would be sweet.

if all you are doing is installing the w7 and not upgrading your speakers, or amping the speakers, then you don't need a new headunit. it will make very little difference as to how the w7 sounds. the 4v preouts on aftermarket HU's are more important for speakers (mids and tweets) that can have audible noise issues. but with just a w7, you wont notice any noise at all.

now, what you should do is upgrade the HU and speakers and get an amp for the speakers. but if you don't plan on doing that, you'll be fine with the stock HU and your w7. odds are though, it will completely drown out the rest of your system.

Anyone have any other comments? I think im just going to get it hooked up to the stock cd player unless its going to take away from my performance...
