Trying to install a network adapter on my mom's ancient machine, but it wants the Windows 98 SE disk. Which i lost a very long time ago. So how do i get out of this one? I don't even know anyone who still has Win 98. Maybe the XP CD has the same files somewhere? Or maybe i can get em all off the net? I know i can find the DLLs online, but it also asked for "protocol" (that's it, no extension), which i couldn't find.

A 233 is required and a 300 is recommended.

The protocol it's asking for is most likely TCP/IP. All NICs, when installed, require a protocol binded to them in order to work.
