Tell me your story of how you got DTV to lower it's price - I want to swtich but as it stands, it'd be more for the dish than my cable.

I'm paying about $106/mo for Digital Cable, HBO/Cinemax and 5mb cable connection.

Discuss?

I know that comcast is having a deal where you can get broadband and digital cable for $33 a piece for one year. If you have comcast, but you said you hate cable. You can still get local hd channels through standard cable, and I'm pretty sure you can still get HBO and stuff through regular cable.

I currently pay about $30 a month for Dish Network. I have one of the lower packages (america's top 200 I think). No HD. But when I signed up, I got $100 credit, then if you refer anyone, you get $50 credit each (i referred 2 people). So with all those prorated credits, I'm only paying $30 out of $50. And thats with the extra a month for local channels and a DVR. Right now they are offering HBO free for 3 months too I think.

I currently pay $18 a month for AT&T DSL (thats with the second tier speed upgrade).

When I moved, I decided i would avoid comcast like the plague. They kept jacking up my rates for no real reason. I was paying about $100 a month for cable and internet. Except for a couple problems at the start (my dish was installed in a bad location), i have loved dish network and the DSL has been trouble free. I will never go back to comcast if at all possible and i really like dish network.
