I'll put in a load of laundry into the dryer. Later, while folding the laundry, often times there's one solo sock remaining without it's pair.

Where are these socks going?

I know man it's so crazy! I buy 12 pairs of socks and within a month, I have like 2 pairs left. WTF are they all going?

I've been taking them. It's just a small part of my plan which will result in world domination.

PS- stop buying those short socks which don't go past your ankle. Those suck.

Then what type of socks should I wear with shorts?

Socks are the most amazing article of clothing. They hate their lives, they're in the shoes with stinky feet, the boring drawers...the dryer is their only chance to escape and they all know it. They knew a escape from the dryer. They plan it in the hamper, the night before: [sock's voice] "Tomorrow, the dryer, I'm goin'...you wait here!" The dryer-door swings open and the sock is waiting up against the side wall. They hope you don't see him and then he goes down the road .

They got buttons sowed on their faces: join the puppet show...So they're showing me on television the detergent for getting out blood-stains...Is this a violent image to anybody? Blood-stains? I mean, I, come on, you got a T-shirt with blood-stains all over it, maybe laundry isn't your biggest problem right now...Maybe you oughtta get the harpoon out your chest first.

Those knee-high tube socks with the colored stripes on them.

Probably clogging some part of your washer and dryer.

Next time you do a load, count the socks before putting them in. Then, count them before putting them in the dryer. Find out at which point they're disappearing, and blow up the culprit.

So you're insisting that I count my wet socks right out of the washer?

Yes. Most socks are lost in the washer, not the dryer. Too-high water levels make the socks float over the top of the basket and get stuck between the basin and the walls of the basket

Many times, sockes in the dryer can get stuck to the inside of a shirt or pants.

When you hang up the article, you do not realize that the sock is inside.

Now you have a perceived orphan sock.

You either stuff the orphan away, of figure that since the sibling was lost, you throw it away.

Now, comes the time that the missing sock appears when putting on your pants; you do not know where the original orphan went to.

You throw the re-found sock away.

And so the cycle continues.

Other times, the sock can slip out of the washer basket due to high water loads
