I will read just about anything. Philosophy, Drama, Technical, Educational, Theological, you name it.

BUT, it must be short, and to the point. Must also be extremely easy to read. I want the author to tell me exactly what he wants to say, not how many different ways he can say it. I've got about a week to read it, so like I said, short and to the point. Maybe I'll start a series if I feel like it, so lay them on me.

How about all three books from lord of the rings :)

better yet, the entire opera conversion of the 'Rings', all 16 hours of it. . .

then again, maby you should teach yourself some 3d stuff, to make cook animation movies. . .

or learn more stuff on making web sites for people :)

Way too general of a question. I've read thousands of books, but can't think of just one to recommend. Ironically, if you narrowed it down to one specific type of book you wanted, I'd probably have a title for you.

Perhaps some of you missed the start of his post that said, "...it must be short..."

The Bicycle Wheel

describes the physics and engineering properties of the bicycle wheel. Written for people who either want to build their own wheels, or like to read technical analyses, or both.

Actually my restraints are extremely narrow. By short I'm talking 100-150 pages at most. Tolkein is not short and to the point. I am talking the only dialogue I want to read is developing the plot. I don't want fluff, I want straight in your face, here it is, writing.

Will probably just end up checking out pyonirs' suggestion. Did he actual do the skin coloring himself and write about his experience or is it a tale about a person who did?

Well, you won't find anything better than H. Chase then. All of his novels are reasonably short and very entertaining.

It is autobiographical. He dyed his own skin. Only like 200 pages i believe..maybe less. Excellent book.

Have you tried Encyclopedia Brown?

Seriously, there aren't many good books with a plot under 150 pages.

Kahlil Gibran - "The prophet". Pretty short, philosophical book.

I found the book 'just for fun' by linus torvalds to be interesting and fun to read. it's pretty short too.
