OK, one more s-vid/composite vid question

I have a little that looks like the input end is a "RCA" cable connector, and one is S-Video. The S-video end is definately male so it looks like it was made to split a compositesignal into an s-video signal. Would using this be as good as an S-video cable? I suppose I could just hook it up and see if I notice a difference.

It will look about the same as composite, but at least you get to use the cool round plug on you TV
