Yes and no.

Only some games will be, but not out of the box. You have to log onto Xbox live and download software for it to play. Like Halo 1 and 2. I guess they will pick and choose. But every game they pick will need a "patch", so to say

Some will be, some won't be.

Support will require the hard drive, and a downloaded patch.

Hell even I know that and I'm not a gamer.

The only games they said so far are Halo 1 and 2 I think.
And EVERY xbox1 game that plays on the 30 will require a patch. you download it through your 360

You see? The fvckin problem with this new xbox 360 is that we ALL have no freakin ideas on the games that will require a patch to play them.I have my NHL 06 on xbox,i have Soul calibur II, Burnout 3, all these game i wanna keep em, but i have no idea if i will be able to play em on my xbox360, if i decide to sell my xbox system..

You know what? Because of that , i will hold to purchase a xbox360.

Bungie has confirmed Halo 1 and Halo 2. Microsoft has said nothing as far as specific games. I'm not going to bother digging up a link, but it's a fact that you need a hard drive and LIVE access for every game.

Jeez... Settle down. Any day now (and a few reports are saying that today is that day), MS will release a list of games that will be BC at launch.

The answer is no. The Xbox360 is not backwards compatible with the original Xbox. Some games will get an emulator patch to make them forward compatible with the Xbox360 though, but as of last I head MS will not guarantee that any given Xbox game will run on the 360.

The first three you listed are supportec. But, as far as I know, there is no HDMI yet support from MS. However, it is anticipated that aftermarket peripheral manufacturers will release a HDMI connection.

"Forward compatible"... Very well put. :)

And like I said, MS is supposed to announce any day now what games will have that patch completed at launch. Bungie has already said that Halo and Halo 2 are done.

Its kinda funny talking to the 15 to 24 crowd. It's like the XBOX360 is the second coming of Jesus or something.

i've seen halo 2 running on xb360

its smoother than on original xbox, and it has 4xaa enabled, so it looks nicer as well. never slows down even with lots and lots of plasma grenades etc.

considering halo 2 was one of the more graphically intensive games on xbox...it should be possible for them to patch/enable most games. whether they will is another question.

It's just something fun to look forward to. Kind of like it is for you when the new Neil Diamond 8-track comes out. :p

(Btw, I'm 37... ;) )
