Ok, my old headphones that I have been using for the last 4 years has finally sung its last song and its times for a replacement. What I need is headphones that have some of the best sound quality available. They need to be enclosed and somewhat soundproof, so I can listen to them loud and not bother roomate/not hear him. They need to be able to produce very deep low end and be powerful at that, good midrange, and great high end, all without distortion. They must be able to fit in a headphone output. They dont need to be 5.1 but it is a bonus, watch movies is surround sound. If they come with a mic, it must be detachable, I have no need for that type of setup (have a different pair for gaming). I realize that these are going to not be earbuds or open headphones(hang on ear thingys), so completely enclosed is the best solution.

Money is of little object here, so anything under $300 will be considered (little more if worth it). Suggestions please. Reviews would also be of a great deal of benifit so I know what Im getting to a degree.

I would suggest some Bose headphones if you don't need a mic. I listened to them in their store in the Mall Of America and they sound amazing. They can be had for something liken $200-300.

Good headphones are easy to get. Good closed headphones, not so much, but still possible in your price range. The AKG K271S, Audio-Technica ATH-A900, and Beyerdynamic DT250 are all good closed headphones for less than $200 (leaving you some money to buy an amp to go with them). The A900 is probably the most versatile of the three.

And yeah, go to head-fi.org. A few of the residents are a little crazy, but it's still the best place to go for headphone advice.

Any chance BB carries a amp? Ive heard of them before but have never seen any of them. And what should I look for in an amp?

I'd have to say there is no substitution to testing them for your self before you buy, different people prefer slightly different sounds ion the head phones. Read the reviews and pick out a few then see if you can listen side by side.
