Ok new build pics finally up

Looks good, just a heads up, You mention copper blocks on your web page, the blocks on that board are alum, SB, NS and mofsets, at least every asus I've had were when I lapped them.

Ah so they just look like copper. Well no problem ek blocks soon for north bridge 🙂. Don't remember why I moved away from using Asus boards they are pretty nice.

Glad you guys like the build

evil did you try rotating the mcw30 90 degree's in all 4 orientation to see if the holes would line up?

i know for a fact the MCW30 should fit on the P5K series.

I had the same problem with my P5E, flipped the brackets, spun the block, It fit but was too "stretched" for my comfort so I used this instead. A pair of old TT vid blocks butched together to make one. It fits well and my temps are good.

Good idea WB, yeah its really tight and not exactly centered over the chip kind of offset a little. On my abit it was centered perfectly and not tight weird. Is NB temp monitoring offered in the asus bios?

I have a "mainboard" temp not NB specific. My mobo is MATX and from the research I've done no-one has specifically located the sensor,,,, I can tell you with a fair degree of confidence it ain't the NB. PC probe reads 19 idle and 25 load on the cpu and 35and 40 C on the MB. I use PC wizard for temps other than CPU, because PC probe is such a joke for temps. My quad idles around 30 and loads at 40 I've been tempted to go over the mobo with a fine jet of compressed air ti find the area it reads, but I'm too lazy.😀 Actually I've got too much on my plate at the moment, one of these days.

Hey WB just found that my MCW30 not only is not centered on the chip it was not making good contact. I tried modifying the brackets but no go. Went back to the orig heatsink and added a small fan for now. Look like ek makes a compatible NB block so will have to look into it. You did the best thing by using another type of block
