Here is the deal, Right now I'm limited to about 3-4 options.

1 - 90 pc. bag of pizza rolls $4.00 - got a couple bags of these, each bag is good for about ~3 dinners.
Total Cost: About $1.50 per dinner.

2 - 99c frozen big beef burrito with Hot salsa poured over it.
Total Cost: About $1.50 per dinner.

3 - 97c Can soup, - 2 per dinner.
Total Cost: About $2.00 per dinner.

4 - Ramen... If I have to. 30c per dinner.

So far, this is all the stuff I've eaten for dinner the past few weeks, looking for other options.

Basically I'm looking for any other _=~=_LOW_=~=_ preparation dinner ideas under 3 bucks. Prefer stuff that doesn't spoil too, that way I can stock up a good amount and eat it when I'm in the mood. (i.e. making spaghetti takes a lot of work, not super low preparation, and it will spoil after a week or so)

Post what you guys have come up with.

Spaghetiti?

It's dirt cheap to buy spaghetti and sauce isn't much more. It's truely a CHEAP meal that tastes good. If you want to, you can probably add meatballs and still keep it under $4.

Oh, this is a GREAT bachelor topic by the way.

Making spaghetti takes a lot of work?

If you honestly believe that, I've got only three things to say:

1) Bag my groceries.
2) Change my oil.
3) No, I don't want a handtowel.

Because if spaghetti ... fvcking spaghetti, fer chrissakes ... is "a lot of work" to you, those are the only jobs you're fit for.

1) In the winter, canned soup with crackers is cheap and tasty.

2) Make Chilli-con-carne in the winter. A big bbatch of it. Might cost $12+, but you can probably get 3+ meals out of it. I think I used to get 4 meals out of it. Can't cost much more than $3 per serving. Takes time to make hte first time, but leftovers take about 2 minutes in teh nuker.

3) Skinless chicken breasts. Make two pounds at once. Costs alot up front again, but with left overs, you can quickly make a chicken ceasar salad with Iceburg lettuce or you can do chicken borritos. For Burritos, put already cooked chicken(leftovers) in a borrito with shredded cheese. Nuke it and add salsa and iceburg lettuce at the end when it's nice and hot.

what i mean by not a lot of work, is < 5-10 min to make and be ready to eat.

the thing about spaghetti is, it isn't really suitable for cooking only for one person because

1.) there are alot of dishes to wash (boiling the noodles, simmering the sauce, serving plate
2.) boiling two separate items takes time... i'd rather cook something in a pan.

To be fair. He's talking about making a small meal. Not making an income.

I think the hungry man frozen meals are pretty cheap, plus they are a lb. of food.

Mac & Cheese has been said, that's dirt cheap and hella good.

According to the TV, which never lies to me, Taco Bell is suddenly making people full from their value menu. Sounds of "mmmm" are supposed to accompany the fullness, but I've never experienced it; just sounds of liquid bowel movements.

WOOOOOWWWWW

Cheap and no prep time are atough combination. If you want cheap food, just accept the fact that it might take some time to prep. Seriosuly. it's actualyl fun to do and gets your mind off of things.
