Do you have iTunes in just library mode, or CoverFlow mode? Coverflow eats RAM like it is its job, regular library mode is much friendlier.

Of nothing else, just find the files on your hard drive and play them in VLC.

I'm not having much luck finding something other than iTunes to play a remote iTunes library directly (short of just sharing the folder over the network outside of iTunes)

As TheStu eluded to, its your RAM thats holding you back. I have iTunes running just fine on an XP1600+ w/ 1gb RAM... I think even another 256mb chip would do that system a nice little boost to help it out.

I'll keep my eyes open though...

I really don't want to put any money into this computer, i have a nice E8400 hackintosh in the office, and a macbook... (Spent a little more then expected on the hack pro...)

Thanks aphex for looking, ill end up sharing the folder and just searching the video i want ...

Thanks TheStu
