So I got it all up and running and proceeded to up the multiplier, play with the voltages. And it seems like the fastest I can get this thing is 3.8ghz on 1.3875v I tried setting the multiplier to 20 for 4.0ghz but nope, even when I pushed the voltage to 1.45v I attempted twice to boot up at those settings and it wouldn't do it. I have the new Jetway mobo that will take both DDR2 and DDR3 memory (not at the same time of course) and will take AM2+ and AM3. Of course I have the AM3 Black Edition PII X2 550s' sitting in there under a monster tower HS/F. The temps are a joke - 27-29C, so its definetly not heat thats keeping me from getting to 4ghz like some others. I think it may be the mobo though I don't understand why. Its a 790GX (MA3-89GDG COMBO). The ram I have is 2x2gb sticks of DDR3/PC12800-1600 that I only have running at 1066. Every time I try to set the mem speed higher like to the 1333 or 1600 settings, it haltls on post and says something about mem speeds not equal I think. I wonder whats up with that cuz I have that particular setting set to "Both". Hmmm I guess I could just be happy with it, it makes a joke of my previous system and its pretty much just a multimedia rig, I'm not a gamer.

But if anyone has any advice on how to squeeze a little more out of it, I'd appreciate it!

Argh. Just tried to run the stability test in AOD for 1 minute. After about 15 seconds, the screen went scrambly and it locked up. It runs fine at 3.6ghz on stock voltage.

Any idea what could be going on? Is it a "meh" mobo? CPU? Oh and my power supply is the Antec Earthwatts 500W.

So how would I go about trying to find out if the other two cores can be unlocked? Is that a special BIOS or something?

Enable ACC in the BIOS, it helps with OCing Ph IIs also have you tried unlocking the dead cores?

I've seen some have successful core unlocks on Jetway 790XX motherboards. Enable ACC in the BIOS to try and unlock the other cores.

As for your stability problem, I would try raising the Vcore and maybe your Northbridge. Try tinkering with the voltages in your BIOS. Also try lowering the HT frequency and the RAM speed as well as loosening the RAM timings. Make sure they're getting the right amount of voltage as well.

Ok but how much voltage do you think is the limit for the Callisto core?

EDIT: I'm gonna let the AOD utility run and see where I get also....

In the BIOS under ACC, I have Disabled, Auto, Per Core (which list 0-3 all with a -2% value) and All Cores (also with a -2% value). What would I set those to try to do the unlock?

No dice on unlocking the other 2 cores. If I had it set to Per Core or All Core it would crash in Windows even with all the settings to Auto. Argh. Guess mine aren't good cores that were just disabled. Oh well, now to just concentrate on the speeds....

Ok on to the RAM. I can't get it to run at its rated speed of 1600, its running at 1066 now. Every time I try to run it at 1333 or 1600, the post screen something about the the mem speeds not equal thing. I'll play with it some more.....
