Hi all,

I am building a system for a customer. Figured I would include a DVD burner and a DVD/ROM drive. Newegg has the oem benQ 1640 OEM which got good reviews for a nice price. What additional software will I need? Just Nero burning Suite or such.

Or should I buy a Retail burner that would come with nero software.

Just lost.

Check whether newegg offers a $5-20 OEM version of nero for sale with burners, or look through the newegg pictures to see which NEC and Benq models come with a software CD.

...but yes, even Nero Express will do all you need aside from authoring a video DVD for stand alone DVD players (it can burn video DVDs just not do authoring like DVDLab or TMPGenc DVD Author)

Most people will want a DVD decoder (so they can actually play their movies).

Retail DVD-/+RWs come with WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc.

Good point. Some DVD-ROM readers (even OEM) come with DVD playback software, and Newegg probably sells OEM PowerDVD/WinDVD by itself as well (I know Mwave did last time I looked)
