I do not think that race and crime is an insane point to make. Its worded in a way that our sheltered and politically correct general public would take in a wrong way, however if you find statistics on illegal immigration (and the children of illegal immigrants) and crime in the country today you will be quite surprised and hopefully persuaded. These two do go hand and hand.

What kind of douchebag thinks that anything is so cut and dry? Apparently a douchebag like Tango.

You got a library full of books that explain this correlation. Use it.

You got a whole specific literature, full of books that explain this correlation. Get into the library of any university that has a public policy program. Use it.

No. But the poll asked if crime and poverty are LINKED. So, he asked for correlation, not causation.

Yes. But only if crime is descibed as being caught comitting it. Otherwise no.

So you're implying poor people are stupid? :D

Of course not. Just an easier target for police and the judicial system. Mac Rich is a perfect example.

Linked to me implies that as one changes, so does the other, i.e. causation. In that case, if you were to give poor people money, suddenly crime would go down. I highly doubt that would be the case. People that win the lottery don't suddenly become different people. They're the same person but with lots of money.

Truly wealthy people are wealthy because they understand money. There are fundamental differences in the mindsets of people with money and without, it goes a lot deeper than just the number of digits in their net worth.

The answer is Yes and No.

White collar crimes are based on greed.

Voilent crimes(armed robbery, car jackings, muggings) can be assoicated to poverty.

Then you have cyber crimes which tends to be more about ego.

If you reduce poverty then... yes...some crimes will go away but will be replaced by others.

this is it, that type of crime are you talking about?
