OK, Moola is obviously a hot topic right now

I went to their site and it tells you nothing about the game itself. Please explain what the game is for the internet usage monitoring impaired.

Thank you.

Loosely described, Moola is something like a free super-jackpot game show, which allows anyone to become a millionaire on the internet, rather than watching others do so on TV. Similar to a TV game show, Moola is free and relies on sponsors to enable millions of people to vie for serious amounts of cash and prizes. The method used to facilitate competition is simple yet powerful: Sponsors give small amounts of money to millions of people, and then Moola allows those people to compete against one another so that individuals may win more or less, depending on how well they compete.

That provides no useful information. What exactly is the competition?

Other Moola members and flash based games

You start with 1 penny. You watch a web ad then get matched up with someone else who has 1 penny. Play a flash game until someone wins. Winner takes home both pennies.

From there you can compete against someone with 2 pennies after watching another ad.

It doubles every time you win, 4 cents, 8, 16, 32, 64, $1.28, and so on. Highest possible payout is 10 million bux.

No.

One game is paper/rock/scissors, the other is simply odds and evens.

edit: okay, the other isn't exactly odds and evens. Guess I wasn't paying much attention or was just happy that I won a couple.

So the outcome of the game is entirely dependant on both people, and one person who plays it all the time is not the only one that can win.

In order to get up to 10 million, you have to win 30 times in a row, which is stastically highly improbable. Getting even 10 wins is rough, and you only get into the 10 range at 10.

You can choose to risk your entire balance, or a portion of it. However, the odds are the same either way. Perhaps if you get to the $10 range it would be smarter to only risk half at a time.

OK, so it's a 50/50 game. Pretty easy to see that you ain't never getting $10million....

That's a question I'm wondering... if you're always matched up with someone else, then at some point wouldn't someone hit the $10 million?

anyone got an invite to share please.

I'm bored at work today.

my son's with me too, this way I can let him play and at least get him to start paying for himself!

Well... ideally... yes. But the problem is, in order to compete for the 30th tier 10 million dollar win... someone else has to be at the 29th tier ~5 million dollar to compete against. Quite frankly, while 10 million is great, the game dwells on greed. Why wouldn't you cash out once you get to a few hundred or a few thousand... instead of gambling that amount in a double or nothing flash game?

So yeah, it's possible, but you'd have to have some big balls to throw that sort of money to chance.

Noticed something tonight I hadn't noticed before:
To improve your chances of finding a match quickly, Moola recommends enabling the AutoPlayers TM system. This proprietary system reduces matching wait times by enabling you to be matched on some levels (but not all levels) at some times (but not all times) against computerized players when no humans are available to play.

So moola pockets the money when the human player loses I assume?

This option is enabled by default for everyone, and apparently resets to enabled everytime you close the page and re-open it.

I'll be playing human-only matches from now on.

Sigh...

This is getting ridiculous, mucking up OT.

Not to say I wouldn't want to give it a shot if it doesn't cost anything. 😉
