OK, Mel Gibson was caught for DUI, and while drunk said he hates Jews

You get the feeling that the press is trying to make a bigger deal out of this than the public cares for it to be? The guy already said he has a drinking problem, has fought it for years, and he obviously said things while drunk he didn't mean. The guy has said he's sorry over and over, and now is asking Jewish leaders directly for forgiveness:

well its big in that it confirms the suspiscions many have had about him. i've been ignoring the story but eventually it hit npr seems it was more than just speculation this time. dudes dad is a holocaust denier, and in the past mels only reponse to questions on that was that his dad never lied to him

Thats one of those cool things about a democratic country... you can access any information from anywhere. So if you don't know what's going on the world... you have noone to blame but yourself.

I think I've seen the story on every news brief today. One of the briefs actually mentioned that Mel was wishing the media would focus on something else. Go figure.

TMZ.com did a poll about whether they would stop seeing Mel Gibson movies and 69% said they will still see his movies. Since only 2% of the population is jewish I don't think it will affect his box office that much.

I don't get what you people are missing. Just because you are drunk doesn't mean you will start hating Jews. When have any of you ever been drunk and had a hatred for a certain group of people only because you are drunk? Clearly, this guy has always had anti-semetic feelings, and just because he was drunk, it unintentionally came out. I mean, come on, look at the way he was raised.
