I was justa bout to buy an EPOX 8KHA+, and go for a mother of an FSB OC. I'm almost done with a chip-chilller dehumidifier rig, that I'll be using with pelts. I plan on pelting my CPU, my Northbridge, and my ram (I'm in the process of making some RAM blocks/cold plates) with the cold water.
...but then, I read a post on here that says the 8KHA+ doesn't even have a 1/5 pci divider (I thought a beta bios had a 1/6)!
I was planning on shooting for like a stable 180, or maybe even 185 fsb, but If that means My PCI (and that means my hard drives too) will have to run at 45Mhz , it might as well all be for naught.
While we're nailing stuff down, what's the best ram to shoot for the moon with. Some say Kingmax tiny BGA, some say Corsair XMS2700 , some say Crucial 2400. The corsair is terribly expensive, but if that's the only one that I can hope to bang out 185+ with, I'll have to get some.
please, list experience with high 8KHA+ FSB and high-performing RAM,
