System:
Epox 8KHA+
256x2 Corsair PC2100 CAS2.5
Athlox XP 1800+
Thermalright SK6 w/ 7000rpm delta
430W Enermax PSU
GeForce 3 with Blue Orb on it
Lian-Li PC60

I have 10 fans in the case total, rounded cables, low ambient temp (normal room temp or lower - right next to a window), everything is on right, I'm using Arctic Silver II on all the heatsinks. The air circulation is set up well, I don't have a blowhole or anything. CPU fan pointed down. I am o/c to 1642 with a 142 FSB and 1.85 V. I cannot go any higher on the FSB or Win98 will not load. Raising the voltage doesn't seem to help any. The temp in the case is 30 the CPU runs at 45. This seems WAY too high for what I am running. I can only get 7266 in 3DMark2001. I have no idea what to do short of pulling my heatsinks off and cleaning them but they are only 2 weeks old! I must be missing something here. I didn't unlock the 1800 because the 8KHA+ can raise the FSB and voltage without it. I should definitly have a higher 3DMark2001 score. Any clue at all what to do?

Now here's a clue !

Unlocking the xp means that you can change the multiplier.
Your standard multiplier is 11.5
Your speed of 1642mhz = 11.5 x 142.78mhz

When you unlock your xp, you can do like 12.5 x 142.78 = 1785mhz

If u dont want to unlock the xp....look for some CAS222 memory.

Your temp is kewl !

Gun's advice is sound. Also, what's the core/memory overclock on the Geforce3?if any. which drivers? Are you using aggressive memory timings?
