whenever i start windows with it at 1200MHz, it freezes at the exact same sopt everytime, but when i set it at 900Mhz it works fine (like right now). It works fine at 1200Mhz until it gets to windows, i did almost the whole windows setup until it started to go into windows, then it froze. i don't know what to do? any suggestions to make it work right? like correct voltage, multiplyer and FSB speed?
thanks,

Motherboard Monitor 5 is what I use and it works fine. Just do a search on google.com and you'll find it. Also, you might want to check to make sure your heatsink is sitting properly on your cpu. I had my 1.2 do something simular last night after I applied Artic Silver II thermal paste. I tried installing it without removing the motherboard from the case. What happened is that the heat sink was just a little bit too far forward and therefore left a tiny gap between it and the cpu. This baby got HOT! Luckilly I didn't fry anything. Then I went back and did it the right way and everything is working fine.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine at one of LAN parties when we were trying to test it. We were trying to see if the pencnil trick worked and we just set the heatsink on top so we wouldn't have to remove the heatsink over and over. Anyway the clip was holding it up a little and it got hot enough to fry it. Never worked agin after that.

Is the CPU a 100/133 FSB? Are your settings on the board and BIOS correct? I'd double and triple check these. Since it's a Tbird, voltage should be 1.75 or 1.8. Try bumping the votlage up and see if that helps any. Check your manual for proper settings. HTH...

That shouldn't of affected it. In bios there is a temp monitor. You can check in there. With that board (I have one), I can run only about 55C before mine goes unstable. But that is overclocked. Unoverclocked it would probably be higher. But with a decent heatsink, it should rarely if ever reach that high unless its hot where its running. I would make sure your heatsink is done correctly, if you used the stock one there is a little plastic tab that covers the pad, it needs to be taken off. If your using a bare heatsink, make sure you have thermal compound on it.
