Ok, I've narrowed it down to Verizon... need a phone?

LG is the only reliable phone verizo has to offer.

LG 4400B(old and tested, trimode), LG 4500(newest digital only) or LG 6000(camera, digital only).

all their Motorola phones are crap.

Samsung has a so-so rep with Sprint. I guess it's more highly regarded amongst Verizon peeps since there are few other options.

Samsung is small and digital only phone by comparison LG 4500 is based on 4400B platform which has been proved as one the best phones on verizon. Also LG4500 has 2 way speakerphone and Voice Command(not same as voice dialing).

I would go with 4500 its brand spanking new phone 🙂.

Verizon pwns, nice decision. I've had them for almost 4 months now and love it.

The LGVX6000 is a great phone... the menu's are nice and it's really fast to navigate. I haven't had a problem yet. Also, it's easy to mod now with a data cable.

2 LG VX6000s and a Kyocera 2325 (free) here. Love them all. Signal strength is identical. Verizon is 10x better than Sprint was...

Isn't that like saying nothing at all ?

No, dumbass. I honestly don't understand why people "narrow down" their serches to Verizon. Are they TRYING to waste money? Verizon doesn't even have outstanding phones like Sprint does! Even though you pay too much with Sprint, too, atleast you get a kickass phone.

So they were right... you are an asshole. I hope you never denied it. That would just raise your hypocrisy rating 1 more notch.

Sprint has terrible service. I was a customer for 4.5 years. Verizon is a god-send. I think paying for no service on my Treo 600 was a mistake. Kickass phones can suck it. Service first, phone next.

The only good thing about Sprint is their phones. That's what I said before, and that's what I'm saying now. Don't twist my words or read into them. Take them at face value. Verizon boasts the best network in the states, but they've got as many dead zones as other people. Some areas have more than most, some have less than most. Every carrier has their dead spots in service. The amount of money that you pay for a price plan with Verizon can easily be taken to another carrier and had for more minutes/features/shorter contract.

Now where was that thread with the cell phone provider poll ??? ... don't mind the poll... it's the fact that nobody has anything bad to say about Verizon. You can say dead spots all you want, but use that to compare with Sprint and you have a terrible point. Now again, why wouldn't someone want Verizon over another and pay more money for reputable good service ? The extra $5/mo. I'm paying now is well worth it.

Honestly, Verizon does have horrible plans. I used to think that we'd never keep up with their price-cutting measures, but their plans are much worse now. In fact, in a study I saw, their plans are dead-last in the industry. In fact, their OWN SUBSCRIBERS list their plans as the least desirable. I guess the network message is working.

I'm not saying to stick with Sprint if you don't want to (though I love them), but at least move to someone other than Verizon. Oh, and if you do stick with Sprint, get the 8100 (can't remember if it's a Sanyo or a Samsung). It has the best reception of any PCS phone available.

Just my thoughts.

At this point I would go w/ either Cingular or AT&T. Cingular just bought AT&T and they will have the #1 largest network in the nation, above Verizon.

And that's any reason to go with them? They're still overpriced. And AT&T being sued by the FCC isn't going to make Cingular any easier to work with. What's with roll-over minutes anyway? They expire after 30 days if you don't use them. And, if you've got a collection of roll-over minutes, your high-priced plan is too big for you anyway!

I'm w/ AT&T and pay $39.99 for 550 anytime w/ unlimited nights/weekends and free roaming/long distance and 1000 mobile to mobile minutes.

I just looked at Verizon's $39.99 and you only get 400 anytime minutes.

I am a former Sprint customer that switched to verizon. Everywhere I go i have had great coverage. The same can not be said for Sprint. I would rather pay a little more and get better coverage than get a marginally better phone from sprint and pay a little less for less coverage.

I used to think the 8100 did. Now I know its the VM4500 that's champ😉 They're both so similar in that area it doesn't make much of a difference.
