With the 150 you're saving on the cpu, spend it on another 512 stick to run dual channel, and upgrade your video card. You can probably find a 6800GT or even ultra for 250-300 on the Forsale/trade forum here.

I just found an amd64 3500+ for 250$ canadian, WITH shipping.... thats pretty good... going to buy it tonight (GOOD IDEA OR BAD?).... Ill also try and find a 6800GT.... i guess another 100$ wont kill me that much! hehe

Which 3500+ core is it? Most retailers are clearing out the .13nm cores at reduced prices right now. If you want Venice .9nm, check first to make sure you get what you asked for.

its a venice core... dont know about the .9nm

Thanks for the bump.

as you may have noticed I have purchased the CPU...

all that is left is the video card, ram, mobo, and case....

I checked pricegrabber.ca and pricenetwork.ca and found some good prices in B.C... 15$ for shipping, seems good... going to have to re-check all the sites I know to tell if i should spend the money to drive down to canada computers, or if I save gas and just order it online.....

QFT. Unless you're getting a 3700+ or something, don't get the 2.2 ghz line. A 3200+ can hit those speeds EASILY.

Yes you need 1gb of RAM at least not 512.

I still recommend a DFI LanParty NF4. Even if you're not overclocking or tweaking, who knows??? Plus, it's a great board. The Neo4 is a good stock board, but it doesn't have that many features....

How about an epox mobo? I found one for 121$ at tigerdirect... nforce 4 ultra... ive had an 8rda (or sometihng like that) a year ago and I was EXTREMELY pleased with its performance....

how is epox now a days? Is the epox worth the extra cash over msi and asrock etc?

Thanks!
