i feel like ill just keep going 'round in circles of the pro/anti socket 939 guys

my first system i posted here

was a socket 754, this one will be a socket 939

MOBO: Soltek SLk8T-Pro

CPU: Athlon 64 3500+ Clawhammer Socket 939 (probably going to be changed with this venice)

PSU: Thermaltake 480W

VIDEO: eVGA 6800GT

also, how hot does that CPU run? I was thinking of adding a Thermaltake heatsink to it but if its not necessary i wont. i'd also be willing to go a tad over that price for the mobo, as im still about $70 below my $1000 budget. so with shipping id be willing to go a little over

so is there a definitive answer on whether i should go this system or the other? its pretty much up to 754 vs 939 i dont know which to choose

If you are gonna overclock then get the 3200+ Venice, if you aren't gonna over clock, then get the 3500+ venice. Venice has the improved memory controler, no more dropping to 333mhz if you use 4 sticks of ram. Skt 939 is dual channel, 754 is single channel, and skt 939 is compatible with the upcoming dual cores, so if you chose to you could easily upgrade to a dual core.

That's the problem 3 months ago when everyone well telling people to get the 939 Winchester over the 754 Newcatle. If they stuck with the 754 they could have gotten a more powerfull system for the same amount of money and not worried about second guessing themselves by not waiting for the Venice. Honestly who the fcuk cares?
You buy a system because it's fast and does what you want it to do well. All this other bull cprap about this core or another core or another socket is just newbs and highschooler who have a little too much time on their hands day dreaming about tommorrows latest toys.

I posted in your other thread, I would still go with a 3200+ venice, NF4 Ultra and a 6800GT PCIe.
